The Sand-Built Church
Q. Why do you call Mormonism a “Sand-Built Church”?
A. Jesus said His words, found in the New Testament portion of the Holy Bible and New Covenant part of the Holy Book of Mormon, are in agreement and provide a solid rock foundation. Any added requirements for salvation (or what Mormons term exaltation) or additional doctrines beyond those words of Christ are built on a foundation of sand, will ultimately fail, and lead its followers to Hell.
Q. Can you be more specific?
A. The “Crown Jewels” of the Mormon Church are their multi-million dollar Temples. At the core of their Temples is Eternal or Celestial Marriage. This temple rite is based on a revelation penned by Joseph not long before he and his brother Hyrum were murdered on July 12, 1843. The revelation can be found in their canonized Doctrine and Covenants and is known as Section 132, in which plural marriage is required for exaltation to become gods where husbands and their plural wives will populate worlds with souls they create:
17 ANGELS DID NOT ABIDE MY LAW; therefore, they CANNOT BE ENLARGED, but remain separately and singly, WITHOUT EXALTATION, in their saved condition, to all eternity; and from henceforth ARE NOT GODS, but are angels of God forever and ever. (Doctrine and Covenants 132)
19 And again, verily I say unto you, IF a man MARRY a WIFE by my word, which is my law, and by the NEW and EVERLASTING COVENANT…20 THEN SHALL THEY BE GODS, because they have no end; therefore shall they be from everlasting to everlasting, because they continue; then shall THEY BE ABOVE ALL, because ALL THINGS are SUBJECT unto them. THEN SHALL THEY BE GODS, because they HAVE ALL POWER, and the angels are subject unto them. (Doctrine and Covenants 132)
21 Verily, verily, I say unto you, EXCEPT YE ABIDE MY LAW YE CANNOT ATTAIN TO THIS GLORY. 22 For strait is the gate, and narrow the way that leadeth unto the EXALTATION and continuation of the lives, and FEW THERE BE THAT FIND IT (Doctrine and Covenants 132)
62 “If he have ten virgins given unto him by this law he cannot commit ADULTERY for they belong to him…for their EXALTATION in the eternal worlds that they may BEAR the SOULS of men” “have entered into their EXALTATION, according to the promises and sit upon THRONES and are not angels but ARE GODS.”(Doctrine and Covenants 132:62,63,37)
Where’s Jesus in all of this? He’s replaced by Joseph Smith as all covenants made by Mormons bind a person eternally to Joseph Smith, not the Lord Jesus.
4 For behold, I reveal unto you a NEW and an EVERLASTING COVENANT; and if ye abide not that covenant, then are ye damned; for no one can reject this covenant and be permitted to enter into my glory.
7 Verily I say unto you, that the conditions of this law are these: ALL COVENANTS, contracts, bonds, obligations, oaths, vows, performances, connections, associations, or expectations, that are not made and entered into and sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, of him who is anointed, both as well for time and for all eternity, and that too most holy, by revelation and commandment through the medium of mine anointed, whom I have appointed on the earth to hold this power (and I have appointed unto my servant JOSEPH TO HOLD THIS POWER in the last days, and there is never but one on the earth at a time on whom this power and the keys of this priesthood are conferred), are of no efficacy, virtue, or force in and after the resurrection from the dead; for ALL CONTRACTS that are not made unto this end have an end when men are dead. (Doctrine and Covenants 132)
Joe and Hyrum Smith have become—not Gods—but “angels to a devil” instead:
9 Become devils, ANGELS TO A DEVIL, to be shut out from the presence of our God, and to remain with the father of lies, in misery, like unto himself; yea, to that being who beguiled our first parents, who transformeth himself nigh unto an angel of light, and stirreth up the children of men unto secret combinations of murder and all manner of secret works of darkness. (2 Nephi 9)
11 O my brethren, hearken unto my words; arouse the faculties of your souls; shake yourselves that ye may awake from the slumber of death; and loose yourselves from the PAINS of HELL that ye may NOT BECOME ANGELS TO THE DEVIL, to be cast into that lake of fire and brimstone which is the second death. (Jacob 3)
25 For they are the CHILDREN of the KINGDOM of the DEVIL…39 and a CHILD of the DEVIL. (Alma 5)
3 SUBJECTING THEMSELVES to the DEVIL. (Mosiah 16)
20 I say unto you, CAN YE THINK OF BEING SAVED when you have YIELDED YOURSELVES to become SUBJECTS to the DEVIL?
21 I say unto you, ye will know at that day that YE CANNOT BE SAVED; (Alma 5)35 For behold, if ye have procrastinated the day of your repentance even until death,
behold, YE have BECOME SUBJECTED to the SPIRIT of the DEVIL, and HE DOTH SEAL YOU HIS; (Alma 34)39 Be watchful unto PRAYER CONTINUALLY that ye may NOT BE LED AWAY
by the TEMPTATIONS of the DEVIL that he may NOT OVERPOWER YOU
that YE MAY NOT BECOME HIS SUBJECTS (Alma 34)17 But whatsoever thing PERSUADETH men TO DO EVIL,
and BELIEVE NOT in CHRIST, and deny him, and serve not God,
then ye may know with a PERFECT KNOWLEDGE it is OF THE DEVIL; (Moroni 7)
Before Joe started a church, he was firmly warned NOT to go beyond his original and only calling, which was to bring forth The Holy Book of Mormon and preach from it:
4 For although a man may have many revelations, and have power to do many mighty works, yet IF HE BOASTS IN HIS OWN STRENGTH, and SETS AT NAUGHT THE COUNSELS OF GOD, and follows after the DICTATES of HIS OWN WILL and CARNAL DESIRES, he must fall and incur the vengeance of a just God upon him. (Doctrine and Covenants 3, July 1828)
Take Action Now
Do not stay in the Mormon Church. Those who know it’s wrong but fail to act will go to Hell; yes, Hell is real:
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8 But the FEARFUL [cowardly -NKJV, ESV, NIV, etc.]…shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Revelation 21)
The Mormon Church did not begin corrupt, nor did all the corruptions listed in the menu here need to occur. God’s favor, which only remained on behalf of The Holy Book of Mormon, has finally departed. This was signaled when Moroni’s trumpet fell from the Salt Lake Temple, March 18, 2020. The cause for the departure of God’s favor was the Church’s disdain for the holy record, culminating with President Nelson and certain professors at BYU.
Further demonstrations of their disregard occurred when they stopped the Hill Cumorah Pageant and allowed the hill to become overgrown blocking the view of the monument. Next was the removal of the statue of Moroni from new and existing temples. The withdrawal of God’s favor over the stewards of The Holy Book of Mormon is a direct fulfillment of prophecy:
And thus commandeth the Father that I should say unto you:
At that day when the Gentiles [Mormons] shall sin against my gospel [not following Jesus Christ’s gospel in the Book of Mormon], and shall reject the fulness of my gospel [clearly defined by Jesus in the Book of Mormon, 3 Nephi 11], and shall be lifted up in the pride of their hearts [claiming they are “the only true church”] above all nations, and above all the people of the whole earth, and shall be filled with:
- all manner of lyings, [Joseph denied practicing polygamy]
- and of deceits, [Church tithes misused]
- and of mischiefs, [Joseph married other men’s wives]
- and all manner of hypocrisy, [don’t help the poor]
- and murders, [Missouri War & Mountain Meadows Massacre]
- and priestcrafts, [Old Testament priesthoods; prophets called by men not God]
- and whoredoms, [Joseph married teenagers]
- and of secret abominations; [2nd Anointing still being practiced]
- and if they shall do all those things,
- and shall reject the fulness of my gospel, [don’t follow the Book of Mormon]
Behold, saith the Father, I will bring [TAKE] the fulness of my gospel [Book of Mormon] FROM among them. (3 Nephi 16:10)
35 Wherefore, I know by this thing which thou hast said, that if the Gentiles [Mormons] have not charity, because of our weakness, that thou wilt prove them, and TAKE AWAY their TALENT [Book of Mormon], yea, EVEN THAT WHICH THEY HAVE RECEIVED [Book of Mormon], and give unto them [true followers of its teachings] who shall have more abundantly. (Ether 12)
Therefore, Church members are encouraged to come out from the Church-wide, self-acknowledged Curse of Condemnation:
54 And your minds in times past have been darkened because of unbelief, and because you have treated lightly the things you have received—
55 Which vanity and unbelief have BROUGHT THE WHOLE CHURCH UNDER CONDEMNATION.
56 And THIS CONDEMNATION resteth upon the CHILDREN of Zion, EVEN ALL.
57 And they shall remain under this condemnation until they repent and remember the new covenant, EVEN THE BOOK OF MORMON and the former commandments which I have given them, NOT ONLY TO SAY, but TO DO according to that which I have written—(Doctrine and Covenants 84)
And not be partakers of her plagues:
35 Behold, I speak unto you as if ye were present, and yet ye are not. But behold, Jesus Christ hath shown you [MORMONS] unto me, and I know your [MORMON] doing.
36 And I know that ye [MORMONS] do walk in the pride of your hearts; and there are none save a few only who do not lift themselves up in the pride of their hearts, unto the wearing of very fine apparel, unto envying, and strifes, and malice, and persecutions, and all manner of iniquities; and your [MORMON] churches [& temples], yea, even every one, have become polluted because of the pride of your [MORMON] hearts.
37 For behold, ye [MORMONS] do love money, and your [MORMON] substance, and your fine apparel, and the adorning of your [MORMON] churches [/temples], more than ye love the poor and the needy, the sick and the afflicted.
38 O ye pollutions, ye [MORMON] hypocrites, ye teachers, who sell yourselves for that which will canker, why have ye [MORMONS] polluted the holy church of God? (Mormon 8)
Just as Israel was scattered and destroyed, so too will the Mormon Church and her people; they shall become a thing of naught. They are not exempt from being used by God to make an example for others to learn from.
The menu items demonstrate a lack of discernment, humility, holiness, and inspiration by the leadership of the Church. This is why Book of Mormon witness David Whitmer and the entire Whitmer family left the Church, even before Nauvoo. And later, Joseph’s widow, their children, parents, and siblings broke ties with it.
Wherefore, COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM [MORMONS] and BE YE SEPARATE saith the Lord (2 Corinthians 6:17)
